For four generations the Valentine Funeral Home has been serving Families in Northeastern Dutchess County and Western
Litchfield County, CT at their time of need. In 1875 the carriage maker R.L. Valentine purchased the Andrew Fish Undertaking
firm. The sign from the original Business is still on the premises. In those days the white horse team was a familiar sight
in the village. In 1925 Oliver "Stub" Valentine took over for his father and ran the business until his passing. Many stories
still circulate around town about Stub to this day. His son Richard "Dick" Valentine took up the reigns and led the business
until his retirement in 2009, when the business was sold to Charles D. Livsey, a first Generation funeral director from Ulster
County. Chuck sees to it that today's services are given the same attention to detail and care that has brought the Valentine
Funeral Home into the twenty-first century.
